Becoming a BAME judge workshops
Monday, January 16, 2017
If you’re thinking of becoming a judge, The Law Society is running 2 free workshops on judicial appointments: interview training for solicitors. The course is aimed at Black and Asian solicitors.
The workshops help solicitors with the skills to help enhance your application and interview performance. They’ll take place on:
- Saturday 25 February 2017 at The Law Society, London (applications close 17 February)
- Saturday 21 October 2017 at The Law Society, London (applications close 6 October)
The intensive one-day training will focus on the competency based application and selection process. You will receive practical advice on completing the application form, incorporating your experiences and interview practice with feedback.
The workshops are for solicitors with a minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience who are considering applying for a judicial appointment. If you believe that you are able to demonstrate the JAC’s competencies or looking to develop them further, then this training event will be invaluable.
If you would like to be considered for a place, send your CV and a covering letter outlining why you consider yourself suitable for judicial appointment, keeping in mind the skills and qualities for appointment and how you believe you would benefit from the course. In your covering letter, please indicate which session you would prefer to attend.
Places are limited to 10 delegates and are allocated based on your CV and the information you provide.
To apply for a place, email Jerry Garvey with your CV and covering letter.
BNLF encourages eligible members to consider this free workshop.
