The Women of the African Diaspora Leadership Summit is the coming together of an impressive array of women in leadership positions who will facilitate the conversation about female leadership.  They will share their tips and strategies which got them to where they are, and which has helped them to stay there – at the top of their professions and industries. The Law Society is delighted to announce the launch of a careers clinic for LLB/LPC/GDL students, paralegals, final seat trainees and qualified lawyers. The service offers a free confidential 45 minute one-to-one consultation with a career coach/legal recruiter.  Careers advice will be provided on areas such as applying for training, interview practice, changing career direction, returning after a break, transferable skills, alternative careers etc.  The first session will be held on the afternoon of Thursday 24 November at the Law Society’s Hall, London.  For more information and to book a place please e-mail   Appointments will be scheduled from 12:00-16:20 on a first come basis.

At the 5-star Waldorf Hilton in Aldwych, London. The theme of the evening was a Celebration of Nigerian Contemporary Art. The guest speaker was the renowned artist Yinka Shonibare MBE, RA. There was also a presentation by David Frame on the multi-billion dollar Eko Atlantic City project in Lagos, Nigeria

10th Anniversary Law Lecture 2011
The lecture, titled Globalisation: New frontiers for the Legal Profession and Legal Practice was held on the 22nd of November 2011 at Clifford Chance, 10 Upper Bank Street Canary Wharf London E14 5JJ. Guest Speaker: Odein Ajumogobia, Former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Annual Lecture Abuja 2010
BNLF had a slot at the Nigerian Bar Association Section on Business Law 5th Annual Business Law Conference, held from 5th – 8th April 2010 at the Abuja Sheraton Hotel and Towers. The theme of the lecture was Enforcement of Foreign Judgements & Regulating Financial Services. Speakers: Paul Onifade, Solicitor Advocate, Remi Aiyela, Barrister & Solicitor Regulating Financial Services.
Students Event June 2010
A BNLF Student Career Event titled: ‘So you want to be a lawyer?’ A look at the different career options in the legal profession, was held on 30 June 2010, at the offices of Edwards Angell Palmer & Dodge, Dashwood House, 69 Old Broad Street, London EC2M 1QS. Judges Dinner May 2009
BNLF hosted a dinner for 9 eminent judges of Lagos State High Court (on a weekly training visit at the Royal Courts of Justice and other judicial institutions, in London), together with the former Attorney-General of Lagos State, Supo Shasore SAN and the AG’s Associate, Oyinkan Badejo-Okusanya, on the 14th of May2009. The venue was the AH King Chinese Restaurant in Bloomsbury Way, Holborn.
